This AI Startup Just Raised $900M — Is Crypto Losing Investor Attention?
AI code editor Cursor raises $900M at a $9B valuation. Is this the clearest sign yet that big investors are shifting from crypto to AI?

Cursor, a rising star in the artificial intelligence space, has secured a massive $900 million in funding at a $9 billion valuation, according to The Financial Times. The startup develops an AI-powered code editor aimed at transforming how developers write software — and this fresh capital signals a clear shift in where big money is flowing.
For crypto investors, this development matters. Why? Because it highlights a growing trend: traditional and venture capital investors are increasingly turning to AI instead of blockchain-based projects. In 2021 and 2022, much of this capital might have gone into Web3 or DeFi startups — now it’s heading toward AI tools.
This doesn’t mean crypto is over. On the contrary, AI + crypto crossovers, like Render (RNDR) or SingularityNET (AGIX), may benefit as AI hype grows. But the investment narrative is clearly evolving.
